Join us and kickstart your career journey, blending hands-on experience with structured development. Through awesome technical training, dedicated apprenticeship days, and expert mentoring, you'll level up your skills working on projects that truly matter. 💡

You'll team up with other apprentices across the business, showcase your awesome achievements, and deliver a Business Impact Project where you'll propose a game-changing improvement to a business process. 📈 From day one, you'll be aligned with a specific role, giving you a clear path for development throughout the program and a permanent position waiting for you upon successful completion. 😎

As a Degree Apprentice, you'll work towards an apprenticeship standard, gaining defined knowledge, skills, and behaviors that will be honed throughout your time with us and your training provider. This role aligns with the LEVEL 6, Project Manager apprenticeship standard. We're looking at a virtual day release delivery model, with an estimated apprenticeship duration of 48 months. Your training provider will be Cumbria University. 🎓

The Role:

Dive into the highly specialized and safety-critical world of railway signalling and control! As a Project Manager, you'll be the central orchestrator of complex system implementations. Your mission: meticulously plan, execute, and close projects that deliver cutting-edge signalling solutions, from interlocking systems and train control to communication networks. 🚆

You'll make a difference by:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of railway signalling and control projects, understanding how they go from idea to testing and completion. ✅
  • Working alongside diverse teams – engineering, software, installation specialists – to keep projects coordinated and on track. 🤝
  • Developing your project management skills by getting hands-on with project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and safety requirements. 📊
  • Building your communication and stakeholder management skills by collaborating with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure the successful delivery of safe and reliable rail solutions. 🗣️

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

  • Achieved or be on track to achieve 96 UCAS points. 🌟
  • Achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above (including Maths and English Language) OR 3 A Levels (or BTEC equivalent) at grade C or above. 💯
  • You've got logical thinking, a drive to self-learn and research, and a creative spark for problem-solving. 🔥
  • You can work independently, safely, and responsibly, taking ownership of challenges and ideas, and you're eager to drive and lead change. 💪
  • You genuinely enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions. 💡

As part of our recruitment process, we'll need proof of your qualifications (achieved and in progress) before making any job offers. This helps us ensure you meet the necessary educational criteria. 📝
