About the role

Ready to level up your career and impact millions? 🚀 Join us and kickstart your journey with a Degree Apprenticeship in Rail & Rail Systems Senior Engineering! 🛤️

Imagine this: you're hands-on with cutting-edge tech, learning the ropes from industry pros, and smashing real-world projects. Our structured programme is your launchpad, featuring technical training, dedicated development days, and awesome mentoring. You'll team up with other apprentices, showcase your wins, and even lead a "Business Impact Project" to suggest game-changing business improvements. 💡

From day one, you'll be plugged into a specific role, giving you laser focus on your growth and a guaranteed permanent position once you've nailed your apprenticeship. This 36-month adventure, in partnership with London Southbank University, will see you working towards a Level 6 apprenticeship standard, mastering key knowledge, skills, and behaviours. 📚

Get ready to dive deep into the full lifecycle of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G railway radio communication products. That means everything from sparking new ideas and defining requirements to design, development, rigorous testing, deployment, and keeping things running smoothly. ⚡ You'll be part of a team that manages every detail of product development, working hand-in-hand with customers to ensure seamless deployment and super reliable systems. It's a unique chance to gain invaluable experience on mission-critical communication systems that keep the railway industry moving. 🌍

Our modern offices are in Poole (New Fields Business Park) 🏢, and we're all about flexible hybrid working. Balance your time between the office and home, especially for tasks that don't need you on-site. However, some hands-on work, like system integration and lab testing, will require your presence. We're committed to making it work for you while keeping business needs covered. ✅

You'll make a difference by:

  • Working on the latest generation of mobile communication products for railway networks worldwide and seeing your impact! 🌟
  • Blending the energy of a specialist engineering team with the massive resources and opportunities of the wider Siemens organisation. 🤝
