About the Programme
As a Project Controls Apprentice with our Cavendish Nuclear crew, you'll dive headfirst into the cool technical stuff: Cost Engineering, Estimating, Planning, Scheduling, and Risk Management. 😎 You'll be working with the best and brightest in the industry, learning to:
- Help whip up estimates, plans, and schedules. 📝
- Create reports to track project progress across all sorts of nuclear engineering and decommissioning projects. 📊
- Get trained up on our killer project controls systems. 💻
Your Education & Training
We're talking a mix of hands-on learning and classroom knowledge, plus real-world experience on the job. 🛠️ Your academic adventure will be at the University of Cumbria, working towards your Level 6 Project Controls Professional Apprenticeship and that sweet BSc (Hons) Degree in Project Controls. The University of Cumbria's online learning is super interactive, using all sorts of tech and media to make your learning journey unforgettable. 🌐 You’ll even be eligible to apply for student membership with the Association for Project Management (APM)! 🤝
Future Prospects
By the time you're done, you'll be set to become a Project Controller, Cost Engineer, Planning Engineer, or Risk Specialist at Babcock. 💪 And that's just the start! What You'll Need
- At least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths, English, and Science. 📚
- 2 A Levels, including Maths and English, or a similar Level 3 qualification like a BTEC. 🤓
- Important Security Note: Many of our roles need Security Clearance. Your nationality and residency might affect eligibility. You'll need to be able to get and keep Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance. Check GOV.UK for details on "United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels". Please note, due to national security laws, this role can only be filled by a sole UK national. We assess all eligible applicants fairly. 🇬🇧
