About the role

🚀 Ready to launch your career and shape the future of rail? 🚂

Imagine being part of projects that keep millions moving every single day! Join us for an apprenticeship that blends real-world experience with a killer development plan. You'll dive into technical training, level up on development days, and get awesome mentorship, all while working on projects that actually matter. 💡

You'll be teaming up with other apprentices across the biz, showing off your wins, and smashing an Apprentice Excellence Project where you'll pitch a game-changing idea for our business. 🏆 From day one, you're aligned to a role, giving you a clear path for growth and a permanent gig waiting for you when you nail your apprenticeship. ✅

This is your first step towards becoming a Level 4 Rail Engineering Advanced Technician! 🏗️ We're talking a 48-month journey with hybrid, block-release training delivered by NTAR. You'll be buzzing around regional project sites and supporting offices, diving into live signalling projects. Get ready to build serious hands-on experience and stack up that evidence for your IRSE Installation licence. 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

We've got your back with a structured training and career pathway, including rotations across different departments. This gives you the full 360° view of railway engineering and how we get projects DONE. Ultimately, this is your fast track to mastering technical skills, bagging your professional licence, and kicking off a lifelong career in critical railway infrastructure. 🛤️

Here's how you'll make a difference:

  • Drive Project Delivery: Jump into regional rail projects, helping deliver safe, efficient, and reliable signalling installations that keep our networks humming. ⚡
  • Build a Safer Railway: Grab essential workplace experience and hands-on skills to earn your IRSE licence, paving the way for a career in safety-critical rail engineering. 🛡️
  • Connect the Business: Bring fresh eyes and new ideas through cross-functional placements, bridging the gap between site action and the teams that make it all happen. 🤝

What you'll need to smash it:

  • At least a Grade 4/C in GCSE English Language and Maths. 📚
  • You're a logical thinker, love learning new stuff, and can get creative with problem-solving. 🤔
  • You can work solo, safely, and responsibly, taking ownership and driving change. 💪
  • You enjoy collaborating and finding awesome solutions with others. 🙌
  • You've got, or are on track to get, one of these:
  • Level 3 Engineering Qualification
  • Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • Relevant Engineering BTEC or equivalent technical qualification
  • 3x A Levels at C or above in subjects like Maths, Physics, and/or Engineering. 💯
