About the role

Kick-start your IT journey with us! 🚀 Join our buzzing Service Desk team at Capgemini and be the go-to person for thousands of colleagues, keeping everything running smoothly and helping us deliver awesome tech solutions for global clients. 🌍

This is a prime opportunity for apprentice-level talent who are super curious about tech and love helping people. Don't worry if you don't know everything yet! We're on the lookout for positive vibes, a hunger to learn, and awesome customer service skills. ✨

As the first point of contact for IT support, being friendly, patient, and a great communicator is key. 🗣️ If you're all about solving puzzles, working with a team, and making someone's day a little bit easier, you'll totally fit in. 😎

Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Apple devices, or common gadgets like laptops and printers is a bonus, but your mindset and enthusiasm are what truly matter. 💪

This is an 18-month apprenticeship with Baltic, meaning you'll be studying part-time while working full-time. You'll be based in our Telford office, so living within commutable distance and being happy to work on-site 5 days a week is a must. 📍

Your Role

As part of our Service Desk squad, you’ll:

  • Be the friendly face and voice of IT support, helping colleagues smash their tech issues.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service, ensuring every chat is helpful, clear, and professional. ✅
  • Spot and fix tech hiccups, sorting out incidents and requests within the deadlines. ⏱️
  • Back up mobile tech like phones and laptops. 📱
  • Get software and hardware set up and running. 💻
  • Configure PCs, laptops, and MacBooks. 🍎
  • Help out with IT stores and equipment when needed. 📦
  • Support internal events with IT setup and assistance. 🎉
  • Create and update simple support guides and docs. 📝
  • Work at the Tech Table or Virtual Tech Table (once trained), directly helping users.
  • Occasionally visit nearby sites for hands-on IT support. 🚗

Disability Confident Employer

Capgemini is a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2)! We're committed to inclusive recruitment and will offer an interview to candidates who declare a disability and meet the essential criteria. Please opt in during the application. 👍

Security Clearance

This role requires Security Check (SC) Clearance. You'll need to have resided continuously in the UK for the last 5 years and meet other criteria. We'll ask questions about your eligibility during the process. Some roles are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons. 🇬🇧

Make it Real - What it Means for You

  • Impactful Experiences: You'll reimagine what's possible, creating value for leading organisations through tech to build a sustainable, inclusive future. You'll work with diverse clients, making a real impact across the UK. 🚀
  • Shape Your Path: Explore, innovate, and progress! Benefit from Capgemini's "learning for life" mindset with endless training opportunities, thinktanks, hackathons, and access to 250,000 courses, including certifications from AWS, Microsoft, and more. 🎓
