Every single day, ships and businesses are moving goods all over the globe. Our Marine, Cargo & Logistics teams are the MVPs helping clients protect their ships, their cargo, and their transport operations when things go sideways – think damage, theft, accidents, or delays. 🛡️
You'll get a taste of everything across our different Marine, Cargo, and Logistics teams, working side-by-side with our super-smart brokers, technicians, and claims pros. You'll learn how we've got our clients' backs. This is your opportunity to explore different areas and figure out what you're truly passionate about and where your talents shine. ✨
You'll join Howden on a permanent basis and dive into an 18-month development programme. This programme is designed to level up your technical knowledge, sharpen your professional skills, and boost your confidence, setting you up for an epic career launch. 🛠️
What will you be doing?
You'll kick off with a structured induction before jumping into our Marine, Cargo & Logistics team. Here, you'll team up with experienced colleagues and gradually take on more responsibility.
During the programme, you'll:
- Rotate through different parts of Marine, Cargo, and Logistics insurance. 🔄
- Discover how businesses use insurance to safeguard their ships, cargo, and transport operations. 📈
- Support the team by processing insurance information and handling client requests. ✅
- Grasp the entire lifecycle of an insurance policy, from a client's initial enquiry right through to placement, servicing, and renewal. 📝
- Help the team keep our systems and client records totally up-to-date. 💻
Who are we looking for?
Zero insurance experience needed – we'll teach you everything! 💯
You'll be someone who:
- Is curious and keen to learn about insurance, shipping, and global trade. 🤔

To be eligible for our apprenticeship, you must:
- Have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK. 🇬🇧
- Have lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years.
- Have achieved a grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths.
- Not already hold a qualification that significantly overlaps with the content of this apprenticeship.

We'll cover your travel costs, because where you are now shouldn't limit your future! ✈️
