About the role

Join Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) NHS Foundation Trust as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) Apprentice and kickstart your career in mental health! 🚀 We're partnering with CWP (Cheshire West & Central Cheshire) and Everyturn Mental Health (Wirral) to find passionate individuals for our 'Talking Therapies' programme.

This is a fantastic developmental opportunity where you'll provide low-intensity interventions (Step 2) to individuals experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression, all while completing an accredited training course. 🧠 You'll gain the skills to deliver evidence-based, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions through various methods like phone, video, webinars, online platforms, and face-to-face sessions, potentially including both individual and group work.

Upon successful completion, you'll earn a Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice (Level 6) – a non-degree qualification – and be ready for a permanent PWP role. 🌟

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are:

  • Committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Eager to learn new skills and grow.
  • Dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of others.
  • Motivated, resilient, efficient, and empathetic.
  • Aware of the needs of diverse local communities.

You'll work with people from various cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when needed, and must be committed to equal opportunities. 🌍

Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this position.

As a PWP Apprentice, you'll:

  • Deliver Guided Self-Help low-intensity interventions (Step 2).
  • Undertake academic study with an allocated education provider.
  • Be supported by experienced supervisors throughout your training and clinical practice.
  • Potentially work with individuals managing long-term physical health conditions alongside their mental health.
  • Have the opportunity to progress to more senior roles (Bands 6, 7, 8a) with leadership or specialism opportunities after qualifying.

Important:

  • You must be available for the *entirety* of the training course (100% attendance required).
  • Pre-employment checks are mandatory.
  • Be prepared for self-directed study outside of working hours.
  • When applying, please provide practical examples of how your experience (work or volunteering in health/social care) relates to the PWP role, as this will be used for shortlisting.
  • Indicate your first and second service choice on the application form.
