About the role

🌟 NHS Customer Service Apprenticeship (Level 2) 🌟

Ready to kickstart your career in healthcare administration? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Apprentices! 🚀 This 18-month program offers hands-on experience and training to help you achieve an NHS Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification. You'll be learning the ropes and developing essential skills within our Admin department, with the potential to secure a permanent role with us upon completion.

What you'll be doing:

  • Being the first point of contact, welcoming everyone with a smile and professionalism. 😊
  • Handling a variety of reception and administrative tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing them appropriately. 📞
  • Supporting the team by assisting with office duties and coordinating bookings. 🗓️
  • Dealing with queries from the public and other agencies politely and helpfully.
  • Managing messages and ensuring they reach the right people. ✉️
  • Maintaining filing systems and handling confidential information with care. 🔒
  • Using IT systems for various tasks. 💻

What you'll need:

  • To be 16 years or older (no upper age limit!). 💯
  • To have lived in the UK for the past 3 years. 🇬🇧
  • A valid visa that covers the apprenticeship length, if applicable.
  • To be able to access public funds and not currently in full-time education.
  • To be ready to work 37.5 hours per week. ⏰
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills. 🗣️
  • The ability to stay calm and sensitive in challenging situations. 🧘
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. 🌱

Bonus points if you have:

  • The ability to remain calm and sensitive in difficult and stressful situations. 🧠
  • A good understanding of reporting lines and who to contact. 🤝

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact, managing incoming calls and welcoming visitors professionally.
  • Perform a range of reception and administrative duties efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Coordinate and oversee service room bookings, reporting any problems to the line manager.
  • Ensure all messages are correctly recorded and promptly passed to relevant team members.
  • Undertake ad hoc secretarial/administrative duties and maintain confidential office-filing systems.

Essential qualifications (Essential Good standard of Written and Spoken English Working in a team or as part of an administrative team Desirable English & Maths GCSE or equivalent functional skills Experience of working in an office environment and routine office administration)
