We're looking for 2 motivated individuals to join us as Apprentice Medical Receptionists. This is your chance to dive into the healthcare world and provide essential admin and reception support, helping our amazing medical and nursing staff deliver top-notch care. 🏥
What You'll Be Doing:
- Be the First Point of Contact: Greet patients with a smile, check them in on our computer system, and guide them to the waiting room. 👋
- Manage Inquiries: Handle phone calls and in-person questions from patients, healthcare professionals, and other agencies efficiently. 📞
- Keep Things Running Smoothly: Take prescription requests, manage appointment bookings and changes, and notify patients if clinics are running late. ⏰
- Admin Ace: Complete forms, extract patient notes, and help register new patients following our practice guidelines. 📝
- Team Player: Support the Practice Management team with feedback, report any incidents, and assist with morning/evening checklists to ensure the practice is ready. ✅
- Handle Emergencies: Deal with urgent calls and assist patients during emergencies, notifying the right medical staff immediately. 🚨
- Maintain the Space: Keep the reception and waiting areas tidy and welcoming. ✨
- Financial Support: Handle payments for private medicals and insurance reports, accurately recording all transactions. 💰
- Grow With Us: Participate in team building, attend training sessions, and stay up-to-date with important guidelines like Caldicott and Data Protection. 📚
- Safety First: Help ensure our premises are safe and secure for everyone. 🔒
What We're Looking For:

Hours:
Our reception is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with a late surgery until 8:00 PM on Tuesdays. 🌙

Key responsibilities
- Provide front-line reception services, greeting patients and managing prescription requests.
- Answer telephones and manage diverse enquiries from patients, agencies, and healthcare professionals.
- Book and amend appointments, and manage patient data including registrations and note extraction.
- Undertake general administrative tasks, form completion, and financial record-keeping.
- Support daily practice operations, including opening/closing procedures, checklists, and incident reporting.
Entry requirements
Essential qualifications (Essential English Language O level/GCSE or equivalent Mathematics O Level/GCSE or equivalent Computer Literacy familiar with a variety of Office software systems)
