About the Role:
As an AI Researcher Apprentice, you'll build the technical smarts, analytical skills, and professional chops to tackle complex problems and push the boundaries of responsible AI. You'll work with brilliant AI researchers and engineers on live projects, turning questions into solid findings, prototypes, and recommendations.
Your Mission Could Include:
- Scouring and summarising technical papers. 📚
- Designing cool experiments and setting clear success metrics. 📊
- Getting data ready and building proof-of-concept ML models. 💻
- Analysing results, spotting limitations, and understanding bias. 🤔
- Documenting your methods and sharing your findings through reports and demos. 📝
- Teaming up with experts on real research challenges.
What You'll Master:
- Professional research behaviours, teamwork, and industry best practices.
- Research methods, literature reviews, and hypothesis building.
- Statistics, experimental design, and reproducible analysis.
- Machine learning principles, algorithms, and model evaluation.
- Programming, data handling, and rapid prototyping.
- Critically assessing evidence, uncertainty, and ethical considerations.
- Responsible AI, security, privacy, safety, and ethics.
- Clear technical writing and communicating your research.
Your Degree Apprenticeship Journey:
You'll be working towards a Level 6 Machine Learning qualification with Corndel, gaining the skills to build and use AI responsibly in an engineering setting. Our virtual learning model combines:

Entry Requirements:
- A Levels: Three A Levels, with a Grade B or above in Maths and at least one other relevant subject (Physics, Computer Science, Software, ICT).
- OR: A Level 4/5 apprenticeship in a relevant field.
- GCSEs: Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Note: Computer Science graduates are not eligible due to funding rules.
