About the Role
As an Integration and Testing Production Repair Engineer, you'll be key to making sure our products work like a dream, smoothly and cost-effectively. You'll be part of our awesome Industry team, where you'll:
- Test and diagnose issues on deliverable Systems and sub-assemblies right down to the component level. 🔬
- Survey, repair, and upgrade customer equipment as guided by your Team Leader.
- Provide technical support to Project and Engineering Teams, helping to develop innovative solutions to challenges.💡
Your Responsibilities Might Include:
- Pinpointing complex faults on customer systems and sub-assemblies. 🔍
- Making sure testing activities are coordinated to hit delivery dates, quality, and cost targets. ✅
- Presenting Systems for customer acceptance – you'll be the face of Thales! 😎
- Representing Thales on-site and off-site, handling everything from Setting to Work to customer acceptance tasks. 🌍
- Creating Test Methods, solutions, and procedures for system testing and support.
- Feeding crucial technical info to Operations Management and Project Teams for smart decision-making. 🧠
- Letting Test Management and Engineering know about any Test Equipment needs.

The Degree Apprenticeship Programme:
You'll be working towards a Level 6 Electrical and Electronic Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Exeter. 🎓
- Year 1: Get a solid foundation in both theory and practice across core engineering disciplines.
- Years 2-4: Dive deeper into advanced topics, applying your knowledge to real engineering challenges. You'll wrap up with a Technical Report and Presentation, showcasing your professional-level engineering solution.
By the end, you'll have a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering plus your Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
Programme Structure:
This is a four-year journey combining university study with hands-on work, building both your academic smarts and professional engineering skills. Expect 2-week blocks of lectures and workshops spread throughout your apprenticeship, supported by digital resources and expert mentors. 🧑🏫
Entry Requirements:

- A Levels: ABB, including Maths and a Science subject. ➕🔬
- OR BTEC Extended Diploma (DDM): In specific Engineering or Science fields like Applied Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, etc.
- OR T Level (Distinction): In relevant Engineering and Manufacturing pathways.
- GCSEs: At least five Grade 4/C or above, including English Language and Maths. 💯

Security Requirements:
Due to the nature of our work, all roles are subject to security checks. You'll need the right to work in the UK and be able to pass UK Government security checks (BPSS and potentially SC clearance). Typically, you'll need to have lived in the UK for the last five years for SC clearance.
