About the Role: Systems Engineering Apprentice

Jump into the heart of our Systems Engineering team and develop the killer technical skills, practical know-how, and professional swagger to become a truly confident and capable engineer. You'll be key in delivering awesome systems and equipment solutions, making sure projects smash their deadlines and stay on budget. 🎯

Your Mission Might Include:

  • Supporting cool systems requirements and design quests. ✍️
  • Contributing your ideas in project reviews. 🤔
  • Getting involved in system testing and making sure everything works perfectly. ✅
  • Helping out with engineering investigations and cracking complex problems. 🧩
  • Visiting customer sites, platforms, and installations for surveys, trials, and system deployment (where needed!). 📍
  • Teaming up with experienced engineers on live, high-impact projects. ⚡

What You'll Master:

  • Top-tier professional engineering behaviours and industry best practices. 💯
  • Diving deep into and working with complex engineering systems. 🤯
  • Exploring different engineering roles and activities across real projects. 🌍
  • The entire Systems Engineering Lifecycle and all its essential processes. 🔄
  • Techniques for requirements capture, management, and system design. 📏

The Degree Apprenticeship Programme:

You'll be working towards a BEng Applied Professional Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with The University of Warwick, focusing on the Product Design and Development Engineer pathway. It's a blended learning adventure:

  • On-campus teaching (around 12 blocks of 3 days). 🏫
  • Virtual coaching sessions to keep you on track. 👩‍💻
  • Access to awesome online learning resources. 🌐

Programme Flow:

This is a broad, foundational programme designed to build your multi-disciplinary engineering skills before you specialise.

  • Years 1 & 2: Dive into Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Materials & Design, and boost your Computational skills. 🧠
  • Years 3 & 4: Progress to the specialist Design & Development Engineer pathway and tackle a significant work-based project. 🚀

Over four years, you'll fuse university smarts with real-world experience, building both academic brilliance and professional engineering expertise. This IET-accredited degree will set you on the path to becoming a Chartered Engineer! 🌟

Entry Requirements:

  • A Levels: Need a minimum of 112 UCAS Tariff points, including a Grade B in Maths and at least one other STEM or engineering subject. ➕
  • GCSEs: A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including English Language, Maths, and an Additional STEM subject. 📚

*Please note: If you already have a relevant degree, you won't be eligible for this programme.*
