About the Role

Get ready to level up your engineering skills and become a confident, positive, and flexible Industrial Process engineer. You'll build serious technical chops through both your studies and hands-on training. 🛠️ You'll be part of a squad crafting manufacturing solutions for our customers, diving into everything from defining and optimising manufacturing docs, tools, and workflows to checking manufacturing readiness and sparking tech innovation to slash costs while keeping things feasible and reproducible. 💡

What You Will Learn

  • Master the behaviours and codes of practice for a pro Industrial Process engineer. 🏅
  • Tackle complex systems by jumping into different tasks on ongoing projects. 📈
  • Assess Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) by reviewing product maturity with teams to zap risks. 🛡️
  • Define, set up, prep, and optimise manufacturing processes and tooling for specific areas or product lines. ⚙️
  • Contribute to Health, Safety, and Environment processes. 🌳
  • Shape manufacturing docs, tools, and workflows based on info from upstream R&D. 📂
  • Innovate to reduce costs and workflows, ensuring processes are doable and repeatable. ✅
  • Join Material Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards, owning failures and changes. 🔄
  • Implement test & control plans for manufacturing equipment. 💻

Apprenticeship Programme

You'll be working towards a Level 5 Higher Level Apprenticeship, Foundation Engineering Degree (FdEng) in Mechatronics with our partners at the South Eastern Regional College in Bangor. This 3-year journey starts with rotations and then lets you specialise. You'll get 1 day a week for college vibes (lessons, lectures, tutorials) 🎓 and spend the other 4 days embedding your learning in real-world engineering. 🌍 Upon successful completion, you can even progress to a BEng in Mechatronic Engineering at Ulster University! ✨

Entry Requirements

  • 56 UCAS points, including A Levels (grade CC) in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Design & Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or Double Award Science/Applied Science. OR a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (MPP) or Diploma in Engineering (MM).
  • 5 GCSEs (grades 4-9) including English and Maths.
