About the Role:

Ready to dive into the nitty-gritty of manufacturing? We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Tool Room Technician to join our team. You'll be the go-to person for getting our injection and extrusion mould tools and all the supporting gear prepped and ready for action. Your mission? To make sure everything is perfectly set up according to product blueprints and our Tooling Engineer's high standards. You'll report directly to the Tooling Engineer and play a vital role in keeping our tool room running smoothly. 🚀

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensuring all injection and extrusion mould tools and ancillary equipment are perfectly prepared, set, and ready for production, matching product drawing specs and Tooling Engineer standards. 📏
• Taking ownership of all equipment within the tool room. 💪
• Strictly adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines and rules. ✅
• Collaborating with the Tooling Engineer to follow the production plan at least one week ahead, ensuring all tooling is built up correctly for required parts and ready for production. 🗓️
• Performing insert changes. 🔄
• Carrying out routine tool repairs and maintenance. 🔧
• Conducting hot runner maintenance. 🔥
• Polishing tools to a mirror finish as needed. ✨
• Manufacturing, modifying, and servicing ancillary equipment. ⚙️
• Maintaining and servicing tool room machinery. 🖱️
• Performing general machine work as required. 🔩
• Obtaining quotes from suppliers. 📊
• Informing the Coordinator of any quotes or spares needed. 📝
• Providing technical knowledge and expertise to assist all departments. 🤝

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and set injection and extrusion mould tools and ancillary equipment for production.
• Undertake routine tool repair, maintenance, and insert changes.
• Maintain and service tool room machinery and ancillary equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and follow production plans.
• Obtain supplier quotes and assist departments with technical knowledge.
