As an Apprentice Groundsperson, you'll be a vital part of our crew, supporting our main contracted sites. Your day-to-day will involve:
- 🌍 Grounds Maintenance: Working across various commercial customer sites, keeping them looking their best.
- 🌿 Plant Care: Assisting with hedge maintenance, grass cutting, pruning, and weed control.
- 🚜 Machinery Operation: Learning to operate grounds upkeep machinery once fully trained (think ride-on mowers and more!).
- 🚮 Site Upkeep: Helping with litter removal and general tidiness to ensure our customer sites are immaculate.
We expect you to represent M J Granger Grounds Maintenance Ltd professionally and courteously at all times. Don't worry, we've got your back! You'll receive comprehensive training for all your duties and responsibilities. 💯
What's in it for you?
- Salary:
- Year 1: £20,800
- Year 2 (Age 18-21): £22,568.00
- Year 2 (Age 21+): £26,436.80
- 🚗 Travel: A current driving licence is a plus! Alternatively, you'll need to be able to get to our depot in Shillington for a 7:30 am start.
- 📚 Education: Attend college 2 days a month at Shuttleworth College, with an additional 2 days of study at home each month.
- 🩹 Support: We provide Emergency First Aid training and all necessary PPE.

Key responsibilities
- Perform ground maintenance at a number of commercial customer sites
- Maintain hedges, grass, prune, and control weeds
- Operate machinery for grounds upkeep once fully trained
- Assist in the removal of litter and general good upkeep of customer sites
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
