This apprenticeship is your chance to gain essential skills, knowledge, and experience while working towards a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship. 📚 It's a full-time, on-site role perfect for someone energetic with awesome communication and organisation skills who's excited about a career in healthcare admin.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an Apprentice Medical Secretary, you'll team up with experienced admin pros and get full training in all things medical secretarial. You'll help keep our admin running smoothly and with top quality, assisting with:

  • Clinical correspondence ✍️
  • Patient administration 🧑‍⚕️
  • Answering phone calls 📞
  • Various office tasks

You'll build the skills and knowledge to become a skilled Medical Secretary, getting hands-on experience and completing your qualification. This role offers a real path to career growth! 🚀

Progression:

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship, all apprenticeship requirements, and the Medical Secretary competency framework, you'll move into a permanent Band 3 Medical Secretary position. 📈

Apprenticeship Perks:

This role is under Agenda for Change Annex 21, meaning your salary will reflect this during the apprenticeship. Once you've aced the apprenticeship and competency framework, your salary will jump to the standard Band 3 Medical Secretary rate. 💰

We expect you to dive into learning activities, projects, and training to meet both apprenticeship and role standards. You'll get chances across the service to gather all the evidence you need for your qualification and competency. 🎓

You'll be working on-site and expected to attend all training.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of an efficient and high-quality administrative service.
  • Assist with clinical correspondence.
  • Assist with patient administration processes.
  • Assist with telephone enquiries.
  • Participate in learning activities, workplace projects, departmental tasks, and training opportunities.

Entry requirements

Essential qualifications (Essential Minimum entry requirement. Educated to GCSE Grade C/4 in English and Maths and/or equivalent qualification. For those with an education, health and care plan or legacy statement, the Apprenticeship's English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is equivalent to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL. Desirable Qualification to be gained over the period of the apprenticeship: Level 3 Business Admin (Annex 21))
