🚀 Satellites AIT Craft Apprentice - Mechanical & Electrical 🚀

What You'll Be Doing:
Year 1: Level up your knowledge! 📚 You'll study towards a Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification (electrical pathway), blending classroom learning with real-world application.
Year 2: Dive deep into satellite production! 🛰️ You'll get to experience our Satellites AIT Production area firsthand. Working in small teams, you'll learn how satellites are manufactured using advanced techniques, including:
- Mechanical Assembly: Working with adhesives, bonding methods, precise measuring tools, and installing components like connector brackets, heater mats, thermocouples, and thermostats. You'll follow technical drawings on 3DX! 📏
- Electrical: Performing electrical assembly, integration, and modifications (harness routing, soldering, crimping) and conducting basic electrical tests. You'll also handle raw materials and documentation. 🔌
Year 3: Become a master craftsman! 🏆 You'll be fully integrated into the team, honing your hand skills and mastering our business skills matrix.

Who We're Looking For:
- Age: 16-21 years old* (check eligibility criteria)
- Education: No strict formal requirements, but Grade 3 (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English is a plus. ✅
- Mindset: You've got to be a great communicator, reliable, have a killer work ethic, a can-do attitude, and be able to follow instructions and work well with others. 💪
- Experience: None required! We provide full on-the-job training. 💯

Key responsibilities
- Manufacture Satellites using the latest approved processes and advanced production techniques.
- Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including the use of adhesives, hand measuring tools, and installation of components.
- Perform electrical assembly, integration, and modification of electrical systems (e.g., harness routing, soldering, crimping).
- Perform basic electrical tests, such as continuity, bonding, insulation, and DC high voltage.
- Perform first level quality inspection and handle raw materials, tools, components, and technical documentation.
