Digital Operations Apprentice

Airbus is on the lookout for a bright and ambitious Digital Operations Apprentice to join our cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Broughton, North Wales. This isn't your average apprenticeship; it's a 3-year journey where you'll gain real-world experience, earn a full-time salary, and achieve a fully funded BSc (Hons) in Applied Data Science from Bangor University. π
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be at the heart of our advanced manufacturing, learning to transform complex wing production and logistics challenges into powerful digital solutions. You'll join a global digital team, connecting our shop floor with worldwide IT systems. Get ready to master SAP ECC/HANA, dive into cutting-edge Agile (SAFe) methodologies, and work on exciting projects like:
- Requirements Gathering: Team up with experts to understand their needs and craft smart IT solutions. π‘
- Agile Product Management: Help improve our digital product backlog using the Scaled Agile Framework. πΊοΈ
- SAP Configuration & Innovation: Learn to configure SAP modules and explore new tech like SAP Fiori and HANA. β¨
- Testing & Documentation: Design, test, and document new features with our tech wizards. βοΈ
- Deployment: Support the rollout of new digital tools across our sites and train users. π
- Trend Watching: Keep an eye on the latest digital and logistics trends to help us innovate. π
This apprenticeship is a blend of hands-on work at Airbus and university-based learning. You'll apply Applied Data Science principles to real business challenges, driving data-led performance, innovating with digital tools, and shaping product development. You'll even get to collaborate with teams across engineering, IT, HR, finance, and more! π€
What You'll Get:
- Salary: Β£23,245 per year π°

Who We're Looking For:
We want someone with a passion for digital technology, the Internet of Things, mobile apps, data analytics, cybersecurity, Generative AI, and future tech. π€
To be eligible, you'll need a minimum of:
- 3 A-Levels at grade C/4 or above, with at least one in Maths, Sciences, or IT.
OR
- BTEC L3 Extended Diploma / Cambridge Technical Diploma in Maths, Science, or an IT/Digital subject at a minimum MMM grade.
OR
- Access to HE Diploma Merit Level in Maths, Science, or an IT subject.
OR
- Welsh Baccalaureate with Maths, Science, or an IT subject at H grade.
OR
- Equivalent qualifications/experience (subject to validation).
AND
- GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in Maths and English Language.
*Note: This programme is funded, so applicants with undergraduate degrees in computing/IT are not eligible.*
We're also looking for:
- Digital savviness and comfort with tools like Google Workspace.
- Self-motivation and a drive for personal development. πͺ
- Strong listening and communication skills. π£οΈ
- Flexibility and a willingness to tackle diverse tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Familiarity with programming languages, data visualization tools, or cloud platforms is a bonus! βοΈ
