What you'll be doing:
- Supporting Learning & Development: You'll be instrumental in helping students learn and grow by assisting with planned learning and behaviour activities, as directed by the teacher. 📚 You'll use structured observation techniques to provide valuable feedback on student learning, behaviour, participation, and achievement, helping shape the learning process for both individuals and groups.
- Engaging with Students: Interact with pupils in ways that foster their thinking and learning abilities, employing thoughtful questioning and encouragement. 🤔
- Implementing Strategies: Work alongside teachers to put into practice effective behaviour management and teaching strategies. 🤝
- Promoting Wellbeing: Support students' social and emotional wellbeing, including assisting with programmes related to their health and physical needs. ❤️
- Educational Excursions: Help escort and supervise pupils during exciting educational visits and out-of-school activities. 🚌
- Break Time Support: Undertake break supervision duties as needed.
- Communication: Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and other professionals. 💬 You'll communicate clearly and effectively with everyone involved in the student's journey.
- Information Sharing: Confidentially share important pupil information with teachers and other professionals as required, always respecting professional boundaries and maintaining confidentiality. 🤫
- Team Participation: Contribute to staff meetings.
- Safeguarding: Play a vital role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, following all policies and legislation and raising any concerns promptly. This includes assisting with personal hygiene and welfare needs while encouraging independence. ✨
- Administration & Resources: Prepare classroom materials and learning areas, and assist with minor clerical tasks like photocopying and displaying student work. 🗂️
- ICT Support: Support the use of ICT in the classroom and adhere to relevant policies. 💻
- Exam Supervision: Supervise and provide access arrangements for pupils during internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with all regulations. 📝
- Professional Growth: Participate in appraisals, training, and other learning activities to continuously develop your skills. 🌱

Key responsibilities
