Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is on the lookout for aspiring individuals to join our awesome Fylde pharmacy team as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. This is your chance to embark on an exciting apprenticeship journey! 🛤️

During your apprenticeship, you'll get to experience different pharmacy environments across various sites, following a structured learning plan designed to boost your expertise. 🏥🚗 A valid driver's license and access to transport are a must for this role. You'll be spending time at Wesham Rehabilitation Centre and The Harbour, Blackpool, with potential for placements at other locations too.

You'll be welcomed into a super supportive pharmacy crew who are dedicated to guiding you through all the essential skills and knowledge you'll need to ace your qualification. This is a fantastic development role for someone who's genuinely committed and passionate about making a difference in pharmacy! 💯

Your training will involve completing a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, delivered remotely by one of our trusted training partners. To be eligible, you'll need 4 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent qualification). We might ask you to complete an initial assessment to confirm your skills are at the required level. 🧠

  • Medication Mastery: Assist in providing a top-notch pharmaceutical service, specializing in the accurate preparation and dispensing of medicines to patients and supplying wards, departments, and partner organizations under supervision. 💊
  • Quality Assurance: Engage in audits and monitor compliance with medicines legislation and standards for safe and secure medicine handling. 🛡️
  • Team Player: Be an integral part of multidisciplinary ward and pharmacy teams. Know your limits and don't hesitate to seek guidance from pharmacists and technicians. 🤝

  • Medication Education: Provide crucial medication advice and counseling to patients during admission and discharge. This might involve sensitive conversations with service users who are experiencing difficulties, requiring tact and empathy. 🤗
  • Safety First: Identify potential risks, adhere to safety guidelines, and consult with the team on any concerns. 🚨
