What you'll be doing:

Health & Safety Champion:

• Help build a positive safety vibe and follow safe working rules. 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️
• Support the upkeep of safety systems and paperwork. 📂
• Do regular checks on safety gear and first aid supplies, flagging any issues. 🩹
• Join in on site inspections, audits, and risk assessments. 📝
• Help record accidents and near-misses, supporting investigations. 🚨
• Assist with organising mandatory employee training. 🎓
• Prepare safety notices and communications. 📣
• Keep HSE records accurate and up-to-date. 📊
• Pitch in with environmental tasks like waste sorting and record-keeping. 🌱

Lab Administration Ace:

• Track lab supplies and inventory, helping with ordering. 📦
• Support the chemical inventory system. 🧪
• Prepare analytical samples for shipping and manage paperwork. 🚢
• Keep workspaces clean, safe, and organised. ✨
• Share your brilliant ideas for improving lab safety and processes! 💡

Learning & Development Journey:

• Work towards a Level 3 Safety, Health & Environment Technician or Laboratory Technician apprenticeship qualification. 🏆
• Dive deep into HSE legislation, lab safety, and best practices through training and shadowing. 📚
• Meet regularly with your manager to track your progress and set goals. ✅

What you'll bring:

• Qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and Science. 💯
• Skills: Great organisation, super attention to detail, comfort asking questions, and a real eagerness to learn. 💪
• Interests: A genuine passion for health & safety and/or laboratory/science work. 🔬

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in a lab, science, or workplace safety setting. 🌟
• Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). 💻
• A First Aid qualification (training can be provided!). 🚑

Key responsibilities

• Support Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems, compliance documentation, and routine checks.
• Maintain laboratory stock records, support inventory systems, and perform housekeeping tasks.
• Undertake basic laboratory tasks once trained and deemed competent.
• Assist with site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Work towards a relevant apprenticeship qualification, completing training and assessments on time.

Entry requirements

GCSE in: (English (grade C/4/Pass), Maths (grade C/4/Pass), Science (grade C/4/Pass))
