What we're looking for:

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • Awesome Communication: You've got great verbal and written skills to connect with everyone. 🗣️✍️
  • Passionate Advocate: You're committed to helping people with Learning Disabilities/Autism live fulfilling lives in the community. ❤️
  • First Aid Savvy: You know your basic First Aid. 🩹
  • Medication Knowledge: You understand medication protocols. 🌡️
  • Equal Opportunities Champion: You understand and uphold our Equal Opportunities Policy. ⚖️
  • Domestic Skills: You're comfortable with housekeeping, healthy eating, cooking, and basic finance. 🍎🍳💰

Desirable (but a bonus!):

  • Qualifications: NVQ, Diploma, or similar qualifications are a plus! 🎓
  • Learning Disabilities/Autism Knowledge: Understanding in these areas would be fantastic. 🧠
  • Challenging Behaviours Experience: Experience working with individuals who have Behaviours that Challenge. 🌟
  • Residential Care Experience: Previous experience in a residential care setting. 🏡
  • Person-Centred Planning: Familiarity with Person-Centred Planning approaches. 🎯
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of Health and Safety practices. ⚠️
  • Driving Licence: A full, current driving licence is advantageous. 🚗

Key responsibilities

  • Provide professional residential care and support to individuals.
  • Participate in care planning and reviews for supported individuals.
  • Maintain detailed case recording systems and administrative practices.
  • Promote effective communication within the team and with supported individuals.
  • Assist in the overall running of the home and community engagement.
