Healthcare Records & Medical Secretary Apprentice 🌟

Ready to kickstart your career and make a real difference? We're looking for motivated individuals to join our Healthcare Records and Medical Secretaries team as Apprentices! 🚀

This is your chance to gain invaluable experience supporting our Medical Secretarial teams. You'll be right in the thick of it, providing essential admin support that keeps everything running smoothly. 🏥

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Typing up confidential clinic notes ✍️
  • Processing important patient letters ✉️
  • Scanning patient information into our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system – super important for accuracy! 💻
  • Handling daily mail for the team 📬
  • Answering calls and tackling queries, both over the phone and through other channels 📞
  • General admin tasks as needed to support the team.

The work is complex, sensitive, and confidential, so attention to detail is key! 🔑 We need someone who's eager to learn secretarial work, can shine both in a team and on their own, and has awesome communication skills. 🗣️ You'll be trained to work accurately and with precision.

We've got protected time set aside for you to smash your apprenticeship modules. 📚

Apprenticeship Wage:

  • Under 18: £6.40 per hour
  • 18-20: £8.60 per hour
  • 21 & over: £11.44 per hour (National Minimum Wage for your age after 12 months)

Important Note: Due to UK Visas and Immigration rules, this role is not eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. 🚫

Key Responsibilities:

  • Typing patient clinic notes from digital dictation.
  • Accurately scanning patient information into the EPR system.
  • Processing and distributing incoming mail daily.
  • Answering phone calls and handling queries under guidance.
  • Promptly and accurately scanning patient information (e.g., physio reports, scan results, blood results) into electronic records.
  • Typing clinical notes, pre-op, and ward notes accurately via audio transcription.
  • Utilizing the Trust's computer systems significantly.
  • Maintaining and updating diagnostic waiting lists and printing results.
  • Updating patient details on the CareFlow system with high accuracy.
  • Checking patient appointments and waiting list entries on CareFlow.
  • Making and receiving telephone calls.
  • Using photocopiers and fax machines.
