Ready to dive into the exciting world of keeping heavy machinery running smoothly? We're looking for an eager apprentice to join our team and learn the ins and outs of inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead traveling cranes, industrial doors, and automated storage machines. You'll also get hands-on experience with inspecting lifting equipment. 🤩
What You'll Be Learning:
- Visual Structural Evaluations: Become a pro at checking crane runways, bridge girders, end trucks, and industrial door tracks for any signs of wear or stress. 👀
- Safety Device Testing: Master the art of verifying the functionality of limit switches, emergency stop buttons, anti-collision sensors, and door auto-reverse safety edges. Safety first! ✅
- Load-Bearing Component Checks: Inspect wire ropes, hooks, sheaves, chains, and hoist drums for any damage. 💪
- Regulatory Documentation: Learn to log all your findings to keep everything compliant with health and safety standards. 📝
- System Lubrication: Get hands-on with applying grease and lubricants to critical components of cranes and doors. ✨
- Mechanical Adjustments: Fine-tune door counterbalance systems, adjust brake air gaps, and align tracks. ⚙️
- Fluid and Filter Management: Monitor hydraulic fluid and gear oil levels in automated doors and cranes. 💧
- Fastener Torquing: Ensure structural bolts and mounting brackets are secure, even with operational vibrations. 🔩
- Electrical Fault Isolation: Develop your skills in using multimeters and schematics to trace and fix faults in VFDs, control panels, and more. ⚡
- Component Replacement: Swap out worn-out parts like brake pads, contactors, cables, and door slats. 🛠️
- Drive System Overhauls: Get involved in repairing or replacing electric motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic door operators. 🚀
- Post-Repair Verification: Conduct functional tests to certify equipment is safe and ready to go! 💯
The Commitment:
This apprenticeship is your chance to gain a valuable Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship qualification in Mechatronics Maintenance Technician. You MUST be prepared to fully commit to your work and training throughout the apprenticeship. You'll learn through a mix of hands-on experience at our workplace and regular college attendance. 📚
