About the role

🚀 Bid Management Apprentice 🚀

Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of winning new business? 🤩 Thales UK is looking for driven and enthusiastic individuals to join our Bid Management team as Apprentices. This is your chance to take on real responsibility, learn from the best, and play a vital role in our company's success and growth! 🌱

As a Bid Management Apprentice, you'll learn to lead cross-functional teams, bringing together the right people, information, and ideas to deliver winning proposals. 💡 You'll be instrumental in shaping compelling and competitive offers that show customers why Thales is the clear choice. 💯

You'll gain hands-on experience in:

  • 📝 Understanding and responding to customer needs.
  • 📊 Structuring and estimating exciting new projects.
  • ✍️ Developing persuasive and competitive proposals.
  • 🤝 Supporting negotiations and closing deals.
  • 💰 Grasping the commercial strategy behind winning business.

You'll be part of a dynamic Thales UK domain bid team, where your ideas are encouraged, relationships are built, and your ownership grows with your experience. 🌟 We'll support your learning journey through the entire bid lifecycle – from spotting opportunities and strategizing, to coordinating the proposal, assisting with negotiations, and handing over successful contracts. 🏆

Every bid is a new adventure, so you'll get exposure to diverse projects, products, customers, and challenges. This will help you build invaluable skills in communication 🗣️, organisation 🗂️, project management ⏰, and business writing ✍️.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination of bids, tenders, proposals, and customer submissions.
  • Maintain bid plans, action trackers, and submission schedules, gathering info from colleagues across different teams.
  • Help draft, edit, and format written responses to ensure they're accurate, consistent, professional, and on time. ✅
  • Manage bid libraries, case studies, standard responses, and policies.
  • Conduct research on customers, markets, and competitors to boost bid development. 🔬
  • Assist in preparing presentations and materials for bid reviews and customer meetings.
  • Participate in bid reviews and "lessons learned" sessions for continuous improvement. 🚀
  • Develop a solid understanding of commercial aspects, procurement processes, and how businesses win contracts. 📈
  • Complete all required learning and development activities for your apprenticeship program. 📚
