- Being an awesome role model for high-quality interactions that boost kids' learning and thinking. π§
- Keeping a sharp eye out and supporting the whole team in planning, prepping, and running super engaging activities. We're talking about nurturing every child's physical, intellectual, and emotional growth so they can totally shine! β¨
- Making sure our activities are totally on point, based on what the kids are curious about and their next learning steps, just like the EYFS framework expects. π―
- Keeping the room vibe calm and smooth, delegating tasks like a boss when needed. π€
- Creating a visually exciting and accessible learning environment with resources that wow the kids. π¨
- Mastering meal and snack times, turning them into happy social moments. π
- Helping kids nail those all-important self-help skills β think dressing, eating with cutlery, toilet training, and hygiene awareness. This is a huge part of their development journey! π§Ό
- Leading the charge with positive behaviour management β guiding children with kindness and consistency. π
- Being a dedicated Key Person for a special group of children. β€οΈ
- Building awesome relationships with parents and other professionals. π
- Being an inspiration to other staff, students, and volunteers, and helping new team members feel right at home. π€
- Using your keen observations and reflections to level up our provision for all the children. π
- Staying in the loop with the latest in childcare through training and reading. π
- Ensuring every child's safety is our absolute top priority, 24/7. π‘οΈ
- Sharing valuable feedback with the Room Leader/Nursery Manager about our nursery day. π£οΈ
Key responsibilities
- Model and support high-quality interaction, which extends childrenβs learning and thinking
- Participate in a range of activities that promote each childβs physical, intellectual, and emotional needs
- Ensure that the environment is well set out and that the resources are excitingly presented and accessible
- Help children acquire self-help skills, including dressing, feeding, toilet training, and awareness of personal hygiene
- Ensure that all children are safe at all times while on the premises
