Your Mission:

  • Team up with the Setting Manager to plan, prep, and deliver epic play sessions in a safe and nurturing space.
  • Be a pro at childcare, including safely collecting kids from school and handing them over to parents/carers. 👋
  • Offer support and guidance to playworkers and volunteers when needed.
  • Get the play area ready for action – think setting up furniture and equipment.
  • Handle snacks and drinks, keeping hygiene, health, and safety standards on lock. ✅
  • Administer first aid if you're trained and it's needed. 🩹
  • Chat with the kids and get their ideas for activities. 🗣️
  • Boost parental involvement in the club.
  • Foster awesome working relationships with schools and colleagues.
  • Keep communication flowing smoothly with everyone – kids, parents, schools, and other agencies. 🤝
  • Complete relevant training to level up your skills. 📚
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and secure work environment.
  • Operate within club policies, procedures, and Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines.
  • Pitch in with Ofsted inspections when required.

Reporting to: Middle Management Team.

Working alongside: Awesome kids, supportive parents/carers, fellow staff, volunteers, schools, and other childcare/play organizations.

Key responsibilities

  • Help the setting manager with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment
  • Provide comprehensive care for children, including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents or carers
  • Set up the play space, including moving furniture and play equipment
  • Provide refreshments and ensure hygiene, health and safety standards are met
  • Work within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures and the Early Years Foundation Stage
