Join our supportive team in Derby and dive headfirst into the vibrant world of floristry. You'll work directly with our skilled florists, mastering the art of crafting stunning floral arrangements for our amazing customers. ๐ This is your chance to gain real-world skills in floristry and customer service, setting you up for a successful career.
This 12-month apprenticeship is structured into six exciting phases, each with a hands-on endpoint assessment. You'll learn it all:
- Safety First! ๐ทโโ๏ธ Safe working practices, legal stuff, tool mastery, and keeping your workspace spotless (hello, health & safety! ๐งผ).
- Flower Power Prep! ๐ฟ Storing, conditioning, and prepping your materials, plus knowing what's in season and keeping stock fresh.
- Arrangement Artistry! ๐ From gorgeous hand-tied bouquets and gift wrapping to beautiful funeral and wedding work, and even dazzling event/corporate designs.
- Design Genius! ๐จ Understanding floral design principles, composition, and mastering those essential wiring and manipulation techniques.
- Customer Connections! ๐ฃ๏ธ Mastering customer needs, budgets, company policies, and becoming a pro at handling payments, pricing, and even complaints.
- Sales & Social Savvy! ๐ Discovering sales opportunities, marketing magic, promotions, and making waves on social media.
- Pro Operations! โฑ๏ธ Organisation, time management, minimizing waste, flexibility, teamwork, and always rocking that PPE!

Key responsibilities
- Creating beautiful floral arrangements for valued customers, covering various design types.
- Adhering to safe working practices, legal and organisational requirements, and maintaining workplace cleanliness.
- Managing the storage, conditioning, and preparation of materials, including stock rotation.
- Providing excellent customer service, understanding customer needs, and processing transactions.
- Applying floral design principles and techniques, utilising appropriate tools and equipment.
