What You'll Be Doing:
- Be the first point of contact for everyone â patients, visitors, and healthcare pros. Make sure they feel welcomed and supported! đ
- Handle incoming calls like a pro, taking and passing on messages with accuracy. đ
- Respond to patient questions via phone, email, online, and in person. No question too big or small! đ§
- Book, change, and cancel appointments smoothly, ensuring patient needs are met. đ
- Manage online appointment requests and connect patients with the right clinician. đģ
- Keep appointment diaries organised for seamless clinic and surgery operations. đ
- Handle test result requests following our procedures. â
- Arrange home visits and out-of-hours appointments when needed. đĄ
- Process Electronic Prescriptions (EPS) and repeat prescription requests. đ
- Register new patients and keep their records up-to-date on our systems. âī¸
- Update patient info (address, contact details, etc.) with precision. âšī¸
- Maintain medical records (electronic and manual) with top-notch confidentiality. đ
- Connect with hospitals, district nurses, and other healthcare services. đ¤
- Send and receive important correspondence, including emails and medical summaries. âī¸
- Receive deliveries and manage the paperwork. đĻ
- Provide general admin support to our GPs, nurses, and the whole team. đĄ
- Keep our reception and waiting areas tidy, organised, and stocked with info. â¨
- Keep patients in the loop about any delays and foster great communication. đŖī¸
- Follow all security, confidentiality, and data protection rules. đ¯
- Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to the Practice Manager. đ¨
- Join team meetings, training, and performance reviews. đą
- Contribute to making our services even better and stay updated on NHS initiatives. đ
- Provide support across different reception duties as needed. đ
- Handle any other reasonable admin or reception tasks requested. đ
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals.
- Answer and manage incoming telephone calls, taking and relaying messages accurately.
- Book, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice procedures and clinical need.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records on clinical systems.
- Provide general administrative support to GPs, nurses and the wider practice team.
