As part of our dynamic tax team, you'll be getting involved in:
- Client Success: Helping clients understand complex tax legislation and how it impacts them and their businesses. π€
- Compliance Kings & Queens: Assisting clients in staying compliant with HMRC regulations, including preparing company tax computations for end-of-year accounts. π
- Filing Fanatics: Finalising computations and Corporation Tax Returns (CT600) for submission to HMRC. π
- All-Rounders: Preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts, executive pension schemes, and partnerships. πΌ
- Strategic Moves: Handling general compliance, pre-year-end tax planning, employee benefit reporting, meeting deadlines, and billing. ποΈπ°
- Director/Shareholder Support: Ensuring owner-managed businesses and their directors/shareholders are tax compliant by preparing personal tax returns. π’
- Future-Focused Advice: Providing tax planning advice and assisting with consultancy projects. π‘
- Process Pros: Making sure the firm's procedures for annual tax cycles are followed. β
- Client & HMRC Connect: Discussing client matters directly with clients and HMRC. π£οΈ

About the Apprenticeship - Professional Accounting Taxation Technician (ATT) Level 4:
This is a crucial role in any finance setup! You'll sharpen your skills in creating, checking, and reviewing accurate and timely financial information. The ATT qualification equips you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in tax compliance. After qualifying, you can aim for CTA and become a Chartered Tax Advisor β the ultimate goal! π―
The ATT syllabus is modular, with core certificate papers and optional ones you can choose based on your interests (like Business Compliance, Corporate Taxation, Inheritance Tax, Trusts & Estates, or VAT). You'll also tackle three computer-based exams (Law, Professional Responsibilities & Ethics, and Accounting). Plus, thereβs an End Point Assessment (EPA) involving a role simulation exam and a portfolio with a reflective statement. π
Training will be a mix of in-person classroom sessions or live online lessons. Remember, your apprenticeship must be relevant to your job, and you'll need to dedicate time to off-the-job training and developing the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours. π―
