What You'll Be Doing (Your Mission):
Purchase Ledger Powerhouse ๐งพ
- Invoice Ace: Receive, check, and post supplier invoices like a pro. Match them to POs, verify pricing, VAT, and coding. Sort out any hiccups!
- Payment Pro: Get ready for weekly BACS payment runs. Prioritize based on terms and cashflow, and send out those remittances.
- Ledger Legend: Keep our purchase ledger accurate, tidy, and up-to-date.
- Bank Balance Boss: Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure everything adds up.
General Accounts Assistant Vibes ๐
- Expense Expert: Review, code, and post staff expenses and company credit card transactions. You'll own this whole process!
- Sales Ledger Sidekick: Help out with raising invoices, allocating payments, and some light credit control.
- Control Champion: Make sure we're following all our finance procedures to the letter.
Project Player ๐ก
Team up with Amobox leadership and our fractional CFO on cool ad-hoc projects!
- Cost Tracking Creator: Build and maintain Excel trackers for project spend, supplier costs, and compare budget vs. actuals.
- Data Dynamo: Clean up and organize data to make reporting a breeze.
- Variance Investigator: Analyze cost differences, spot potential overspends, and flag anything unusual.
- Reporting Rockstar: Create simple dashboards using pivot tables, lookups, and conditional formatting.
- Process Improvement Pioneer: Help automate repetitive tasks using templates, formulas, and lookup tables.
- Documentation Dude/Dudette: Keep project folders, supplier quotes, and cost approval logs in tip-top shape.
- System Savvy: Contribute to improving our financial systems.
Perks & What You'll Need:
- A valid current driving licence is essential as our location isn't easily reached by public transport. ๐
- Previous experience in an office or accounts setting is a bonus! ๐
- You'll be working towards an Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship standard, including the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
- Classroom attendance at Colchester Institute (Colchester Campus) every other week. ๐ซ

Key responsibilities
- Managing purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing and payment runs.
