What's the gig?
Audit is super important, even if you haven't heard the word before. When companies drop their financial reports, people need to trust those numbers are spot-on. That's where we come in! We independently check financial reports so everyone β the public, investors, businesses β can have faith in what they're seeing. It's a job that protects people and genuinely makes a difference. π‘οΈ
The audit scene is constantly evolving, with AI and other tech automating processes and boosting accuracy. Businesses are also using AI, so we need to audit their AI financial systems and processes too. This means our work is always expanding. We're shaping the future of audit, and there's never been a more exciting time to join! β¨
What you'll need:
You'll need to have got or be working towards at least 104 UCAS points (260 pre-2017) from your A-levels (or equivalent). π

What you'll be doing:
Our inclusive BrightStart Apprenticeship is for people from all sorts of backgrounds. Itβs a cool way to dive into professional services, get real-world experience, and get paid while you learn and grow. You'll work with major organisations and boost your skills with our awesome training. You'll deliver top-notch services that actually impact society. πͺ
Youβll get responsibility for developing people and managing teams, with our support every step of the way. Youβll connect with different organisations, learning how they tick and the economic and industry trends that matter to them. Get ready to think creatively and collaborate to solve problems. Plus, you'll learn critical skills to adapt and use tech to future-proof your career. π‘
Choose your path:
- Large & Complex Audit: Think listed companies (corporate and financial services), their international branches, banks, insurers, big private companies, and public sector organisations. π¦
- Portfolio Audit: This covers a mix of sectors, including fast-growing businesses and large private corporates, real estate funds, pension schemes, and financial services brokers. Itβs a great way to work with dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth businesses. π
Where you'll be working:
We know face-to-face interaction is key for your development. We also get that flexibility is important, so we run a hybrid system β a mix of office and home working. If you're client-facing, you might need to visit client sites. Meetings will be online and in-person. π€ Your final assessment and induction will be in-person to help you network and build connections.
Our workspaces are accessible. If you need more flexibility due to health or caring duties, just chat with us. π

How you'll develop:
- Technical Skills: Our Early Careers training gives you the core knowledge and skills for audits and assurance. It complements your professional qualification training. π§
- Soft Skills: We'll invest in your development through courses and on-the-job learning, helping you build skills in communication, professional scepticism, decision-making, resilience, project management, and leadership. You'll also learn to use digital tools, data analytics, and emerging tech like AI to enhance your work, find insights, and automate tasks. π»
- Qualifications: You'll work towards the ACA or CA qualification with the ICAEW or ICAS (depending on your location). These are globally recognised and will build your technical know-how, help you apply your learning, and develop you professionally. We cover tuition, paid study leave, and provide a strong support network (student support advisor, coach, dedicated exam manager). We also cover mandated courses, exam attempts, and membership fees. π
