Ready to kickstart your career in the kitchen? We're looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our club! This is your chance to learn the ropes, master culinary skills, and become a vital part of our food service operation. ๐ด
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day:
- Prep Like a Pro: Get ingredients and food prepped and ready for every service. ๐ฅ๐ช
- Cook to Perfection: Prepare and plate delicious food to our high club standards.
- Follow the Recipe: Stick to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
- Set the Scene: Get the kitchen and lounge area prepped and ready before service begins. โจ
- Keep It Clean: Maintain spotless work surfaces and equipment throughout your shift. ๐งผ
- Tidy Up: Wash and store all kitchen equipment, utensils, and pans.
- Temperature Checks: Monitor fridge and freezer temps and record them. ๐ก๏ธ
- Food Safety First: Conduct food temperature checks and complete necessary kitchen records.
- Label & Date: Correctly label and date all prepared and opened food items.
- Stock Rotation: Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) for all stock.
- Stock Watch: Check use-by dates, report any shortages or wastage. ๐
- Safe Storage: Store raw and cooked foods correctly to prevent cross-contamination.
- Allergen Awareness: Strictly follow allergen procedures โ no guesswork allowed! ๐ซ
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain excellent personal hygiene and follow all food safety procedures.
- Communicate: Inform your supervisor of low stock, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Closing Down: Clean and close down the kitchen and dining lounge properly after service.
To Be Our Next Apprentice, You'll Need To:
- Be 16 years or older.
- Not currently be in full-time education.

Key responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, cooking, and service of food.
- Prepare ingredients and cook/plate food to the club's required standard.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces and equipment throughout the shift.
- Follow food safety, allergen, and stock rotation procedures.
- Carry out kitchen setup, close-down, and equipment washing.
