We've got an epic opportunity to join our Apprentice programme across our main UK sites!
About the Role ๐ ๏ธ
You'll be trained to calibrate and optimize a huge range of measuring instruments, plus learn to troubleshoot and fix equipment. You'll be working to strict Quality System and Company Procedures, audited to ISO9001 and ISO17025 by BSI and UKAS.
This 4-year programme includes:
- NVQ Level 3 & BTEC Diploma Level 3 (Level 7 Scotland) in Engineering
- Calibration Fundamentals
- In-house training across various calibration areas (pressure, temperature, electrical, etc.) in UKAS accredited labs ๐งช
- Personal development courses with external training providers
- Microsoft software training ๐ป
Future Prospects ๐
Upon completing your Apprenticeship, you'll be a qualified Calibration Engineer with UKAS signatory status. You could then progress to roles like Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Technical Specialist, or even Management! Plus, there are chances to get even more qualifications.
Requirements โ
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade 4 or above. (Or National 5 grade A-C in English, Maths, and Science in Scotland).
- Good PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft software.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and solving problems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ๐ฃ๏ธ
- Ability to attend college weekly during term time. ๐
Key responsibilities
- Calibrate and optimise a wide range of measuring instrumentation
- Fault find and repair equipment
- Perform in accordance with the Quality System and Company Procedures
- Undertake formal engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 & BTEC Diploma Level 3)
- Engage in practical training across various calibration disciplines in UKAS accredited laboratories
