We've got an exciting spot for you to join our Apprentice programme, open at our main UK sites! ✨
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll get hands-on training to calibrate and optimize all sorts of measuring instruments, plus learn how to diagnose and fix equipment. 🛠️ You'll be working to strict Quality System and Company Procedures, audited to ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards by BSI and UKAS.
This epic 4-year programme includes:
- NVQ Level 3 & BTEC Diploma Level 3 (or Level 7 in Scotland) in Engineering 📚
- Calibration Fundamentals deep dives
- In-house training across different calibration areas (like pressure, temperature, electrical) in UKAS accredited labs 🔬
- Personal development courses with external experts 🌟
- Mastering Microsoft software packages 💻
What's Next?
Finish your apprenticeship and BAM! 💥 You're a qualified Calibration Engineer with UKAS signatory status. Your journey can then lead you to roles like Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Technical Specialist, or even Management. 📈 Plus, you can keep leveling up your qualifications! 🎓
What You'll Need:
- At least 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade 4+ (or National 5s at grade A-C in English, Math, and Science in Scotland) 💯
- Solid PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft software 🖱️
- A proactive attitude towards learning and solving problems 🤔
- Great people skills and ability to communicate effectively 🗣️
- Willingness to attend college weekly during term time 🏫
Key responsibilities
- Calibrate and optimise a wide range of measuring instrumentation
- Fault find and repair equipment
- Perform in accordance with the Quality System and Company Procedures
- Undertake formal qualifications in Engineering (NVQ Level 3 & BTEC Diploma Level 3)
- Participate in in-house and external training programmes
