Job Title: Estates Maintenance Assistant 🛠️
About the Role:
We're looking for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our Estates team! You'll be playing a key role in keeping our Trust sites in top-notch condition, handling everything from planned upkeep to quick fixes. If you're hands-on, enjoy problem-solving, and want to contribute to a safe and functional environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you. 🚀
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lending a hand with all sorts of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across our sites. 👷♀️👷♂️
- Conducting regular checks on buildings, fixtures, fittings, and equipment to spot any issues. 👀
- Identifying defects and reporting what needs fixing to keep things running smoothly. 📝
- Assisting with plumbing tasks, like water isolation, and repairing taps, traps, and related fittings. 💧
- Supporting repairs for waste systems and clearing blockages. 🚰
- Inspecting, adjusting, and repairing doors, windows, and their fittings. 🚪
- Helping with tasks like replacing glazing beads and carrying out minor joinery repairs. 🔨
- Preparing surfaces and undertaking painting and decorating work. 🎨
- Applying caulk and sealants to frames. 🖌️
- Assisting with plasterboard, plastering, and tiling repairs. 🧱
- Supporting school site teams with their daily maintenance needs. 🏫
- Helping with classroom moves, furniture installations, and maintenance during holiday periods. 📦
- Working alongside contractors on Trust premises. 🤝
- Adhering strictly to Trust Health and Safety procedures and wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. 🛡️
- Completing and logging compliance checks through our online portal. ✅

Key responsibilities
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance activities across Trust sites.
- Carry out routine inspections of buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment, identifying and reporting defects.
- Support school site teams with day-to-day maintenance tasks, including classroom moves and furniture installation.
- Provide support to contractors working on Trust premises.
- Follow Trust Health and Safety procedures and complete compliance checks.
