As an apprentice, you'll be studying towards your Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, gaining invaluable hands-on experience while supporting service users across the London area. 🏘️ We believe in delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and if you share that passion, we want to hear from you!
Your role will be crucial in providing essential support to individuals in their own homes, supported living settings, and other community environments. You'll help them maintain their independence, dignity, and overall quality of life. You'll work collaboratively with registered nurses, care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to create and deliver outstanding care plans tailored to each person's unique needs. 🤝
What you'll be doing:
- Connecting with people: Meeting service users and their families to explain the role of a Care Assistant, initiate care plans, and provide information on treatments, procedures, and ongoing care. 🗣️
- Teamwork makes the dream work: Participating in interdisciplinary meetings to develop comprehensive care plans with other providers, ensuring seamless care progression and promoting peer support. 🧑🤝🧑
- Ensuring top-notch care: Carrying out patient rounds to supervise the quality and delivery of care, documenting progress, and identifying any deviations from the care plan. 📝
- Collaboration is key: Working alongside external departments to arrange tests, procedures, and consultations, and communicating any care plan deviations or transfer plan updates to operational staff. 📞
- Making an impact: Evaluating the effectiveness of care plans with the interdisciplinary team and providing recommendations for improvement. 💡
- Upholding standards: Acting in accordance with care guidelines and legal requirements, fostering treatment practices that align with our values, and observing all governing regulations. ✅
- Safety first: Following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of illness amongst yourself, colleagues, and service users. 🛡️
- Respect and privacy: Maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting the rights of all individuals. 🤫
- Continuous learning: Recording patient information accurately, backing up data, and continually improving your industry knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking. 📚
What you'll gain:
Upon successful completion of this 10-month apprenticeship, you will have achieved your Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Level 2.
