What You'll Be Doing:

  • Helping teachers get ready for lessons by prepping materials and resources. ✂️
  • Supporting students' learning journeys, focusing on both academic and emotional growth. 🥰
  • Working with students individually or in small groups to boost their confidence and skills. 💪
  • Delivering engaging learning activities, guided by our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo). 📚
  • Observing and sharing valuable insights on student progress. 📈
  • Supervising and assisting during literacy sessions and after-school homework clubs. ✍️
  • Keeping lunchtime exciting with activities like our popular games club! ⚽
  • Providing crucial support in various settings: classrooms, small group work, and targeted interventions (think reading, phonics, spelling – you name it!). 🎯
  • Assisting the SEND team with key duties like supervising 'The Bridge', study sessions, school trips, and exam periods. 🚌
  • Offering exam access support (like reading, scribing, or prompting) in line with regulations – training provided! 👩‍🎓
  • Participating in and helping deliver training to support vulnerable pupils. 🤝
  • Occasionally taking the lead to supervise whole classes or small groups during breaks like wet play. ☔
  • Tracking and documenting student progress during interventions. 📝
  • Attending important staff meetings and training sessions to keep your skills sharp. 🧠
  • Using essential equipment like printers and laminators as needed. 🖨️

What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine desire to support young learners.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and a proactive attitude.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.

This is a fantastic stepping stone for anyone interested in education, youth work, or social care. Come be a part of something meaningful! ✨

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students, assisting with learning, well-being, and targeted interventions.
  • Deliver planned learning sessions and contribute to student progress monitoring.
  • Supervise students during scheduled activities, lessons, and dedicated sessions.
  • Assist the class teacher with resource preparation and general administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to SEND team duties, including providing exam access support.
