What you'll be doing:
- Keeping things shipshape: You'll help keep our labs clean, tidy, and safe by following all Health and Safety protocols. Think of yourself as a lab guardian! 🛡️
- The ultimate stock manager: Receive and distribute incoming supplies to our researchers, and keep our shared chemicals and consumables organized. You'll be the go-to for all things stocked! 📦
- Waste warrior in training: Learn the ropes of safely disposing of hazardous chemical waste. Responsibility level: expert! ☢️
- Safety first detective: Conduct visual inspections, spot any issues or hazards, and report them to our managers. You'll even help request minor repairs! 🕵️♀️
- Equipment whisperer: Get hands-on with routine maintenance and cleaning of scientific gear like centrifuges and freezers. You might even oversee external service engineers! 🛠️
- Admin ace: Assist with important records like asset registers and service schedules. Get ready to learn some cool facilities management software and digital tools! 💻
- Knowledge seeker: Stay up-to-date with essential training on Good Laboratory Practice, Health and Safety, COSHH, and other key regulations. Continuous learning is key! 📚
- Safety drill superstar: Help out with safety inspections, fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, and evacuation drills. Be part of our safety squad! 🔥
- Team player: Collaborate with colleagues, Facilities Teams, and external partners to keep everything running smoothly and ensure top-notch service standards. 🤝

Key responsibilities
- Oversee laboratory housekeeping and maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage distribution of incoming goods and shared stocks of consumables.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, visual inspections, and report faults.
- Assist with maintenance of laboratory and facilities administration records.
- Undertake and maintain training on Good Laboratory Practice and Health and Safety regulations.
Entry requirements
GCSE in: (Any / Other Subject (grade 4/C or above), Any / Other Subject (grade 4/C or above), English (grade 4/C or above), Maths (grade 4/C or above), Science (grade 4/C or above))
