What you'll be doing:
- Building Connections: Forge strong, respectful relationships with pupils, becoming a positive role model and inspiring them to reach their full potential. π€
- Ensuring Success: Supervise and support all pupils, including those with special educational needs, making sure they have access to learning resources and opportunities. π
- Keeping Everyone Safe: Prioritize the safety, well-being, and personal hygiene of pupils. Basic first aid knowledge is a plus! βοΈ
- Fostering Inclusion: Create a classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, encouraged to interact, and actively participates in learning. π
- Supporting Learning: Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans, Personal Care Programmes, and curriculum activities. π―
- Boosting Confidence: Help pupils develop self-esteem and independence, empowering them to tackle challenges. πͺ
- Giving Feedback: Provide constructive feedback on pupil progress and achievements, working closely with teachers. π
- Team Player: Be ready to step in and provide cover supervision for teachers when needed. π
Supporting Teachers & the School:
- Promoting Positive Behaviour: Help foster a positive classroom atmosphere and address conflicts effectively, following school policies. π¦
- Home-School Links: Build positive relationships with parents and carers, supporting the school's communication efforts. π‘
- Resource Prep: Assist teachers with preparing and organising teaching materials and resources. βοΈ
- Adapting Activities: Adjust learning activities based on pupil needs and responses. π‘
- Curriculum Support: Work with pupils on literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas, recording their progress. π
- ICT Integration: Support the use of technology in learning and help pupils develop their digital skills. π»
- Organised Environment: Maintain a supportive and orderly classroom, in line with lesson plans. π¦
- Displaying Work: Help showcase pupils' amazing work! πΌοΈ
- Equipment Management: Prepare, maintain, and assist pupils with the use of learning equipment. π οΈ
- Admin Support: Provide clerical assistance to teachers, such as photocopying and filing. π
- School Policies: Be aware of and adhere to all school policies, including child protection, health & safety, and data protection. π
- Team Contribution: Contribute to the overall success and positive atmosphere of the school. π―
- Professional Development: Continuously improve your skills through training and self-evaluation. π±
- Supervision: Assist with the supervision of pupils outside of lesson time, including before and after school. β°
- Outings: Support staff and pupils on educational visits and trips, taking responsibility for a group when required. πΊοΈ

Key responsibilities
- Supervise and provide support for pupils, ensuring their safety, welfare, and access to learning resources.
- Assist teachers with the preparation of teaching and learning materials and resources, and undertake structured learning activities.
- Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflicts, and encourage the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Provide clerical support for teachers and undertake pupil record keeping as requested.
- Comply with school policies relating to child protection, health & safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding.
