What You'll Be Doing:
As an Engineering Apprentice at Wolfmet, you'll get hands-on experience in a cutting-edge environment. Your training will cover:
- 🔧 Operating conventional and CNC machines, including ISO presses, milling machines, and Mazak Lathes.
- 🔥 Mastering the operation of pusher and batch furnaces.
- 📏 Utilizing CMM machines (CNC and manual) for precision measurements.
- ⚙️ Engaging in various Wolfmet production processes, including bench work like deburring, fitting, assembly, and packing.
- 📝 Completing accurate paperwork according to our high quality standards (job routings, quality plans, procedures).
- ✨ Maintaining impeccable housekeeping through TPM and 5S activities.
- 💡 Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- ✅ Adhering strictly to Health & Safety and environmental procedures.
Your Skill Development:
You'll be trained to become a skilled machinist in the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering sector, focusing on complex and precision work with specialist materials. Expect to work with:
- 🎛️ Centre Lathes
- 🫎 Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines
- 🌀 Grinding Machines (Single and Multi-Axis)
- 🤖 CNC Machines

Key responsibilities
- Operations of all conventional machines in the Wolfmet powder process area - ISO press, milling machines, Mazak Lathes
- Operation of pusher and batch furnaces

Entry requirements
GCSE in: (Any (grade Grade 4/C or above), Any (grade Grade 4/C or above), English (grade Grade 4/C or above), Maths (grade Grade 4/C or above))
