About the role

We're on the hunt for a passionate Learning & Wellbeing Mentor to join our awesome team! 🚀 If you're all about helping young people thrive, this could be your dream gig.

What you'll be doing:

  • Guiding students through 1:1 and small group sessions to boost their emotional regulation, resilience, learning behaviour, and academic wins. Special shout-out to students with SEND and SEMH needs! 🌟
  • Teaming up with teachers to plan lessons, track progress, give killer feedback, and tailor support for each student. ✍️
  • Building awesome, trust-filled relationships with pupils, becoming their go-to mentor to help them shine with confidence, independence, wellbeing, and positive behaviour. 💪
  • Helping us build an inclusive Alternative Provision by creating safe, engaging spaces where every student can absolutely crush it. 💯
  • Collaborating with teachers, pastoral teams, SEND staff, and families to make sure every student is supported and to strengthen those home-school connections. 🤝

What we're looking for in you:

  • You've got solid experience supporting kids or young people, especially those with SEMH, SEND, or other learning needs. 🧠
  • You're a confident leader when it comes to learning, delivering interventions, and covering lessons solo. 🎤
  • You're a pro at building positive vibes and using restorative, trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour and wellbeing. ❤️‍🩹
  • You're an amazing communicator who loves working with colleagues, families, and outside pros. 🗣️
  • You're organised, adaptable, and can keep your cool, stay resilient, and find solutions in a buzzing environment. 🌪️
  • You're totally committed to helping every child hit their potential with high expectations, compassion, and consistency. ✨
  • Ideally, you're qualified to HLTA standard - Level 3 minimum (or have awesome equivalent experience), with cracking literacy and numeracy skills. 🤓
  • *No relevant qualifications? No worries!* If you've got the experience, we'll get you enrolled in our Level 3 apprenticeship programme. 🎉
  • You have the right to work in the UK. (Sorry, no sponsorship for this role). 🇬🇧

Key responsibilities

  • Lead targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support emotional regulation, resilience, behaviour for learning and academic progress
  • Work closely with teachers to plan learning, assess progress, provide feedback and adapt support to meet individual student needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a mentor and key adult to promote confidence, independence, wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Support the development of an inclusive Alternative Provision by creating safe, engaging learning environments where every student can succeed
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, SEND staff and families to support student progress and strengthen home-school partnerships
