Your role will involve:

• Providing general and specific support to students, guided by the classroom teacher. 🧑‍🏫
• Developing a solid understanding of various learning support needs. 🧠
• Supporting individual students, both inside and outside the classroom, to help them connect with peers and engage in teacher-led activities. 🤝
• Building strong, positive relationships with students and interacting with them based on their unique needs. 🤗
• Championing the inclusion and acceptance of every student. 🌈
• Setting high but achievable expectations, fostering self-esteem and independence. 💪
• Offering essential pastoral care to ensure students feel safe and happy. 😊
• Giving constructive feedback to students on their progress and achievements, under teacher guidance. 📈
• Collaborating with the class teacher (and other professionals) to create and plan effective student support programs. 🗓️
• Promoting positive behavior, addressing conflicts and incidents swiftly according to policy, and encouraging students to own their actions. 🌟
• Undertaking routine marking of student work. 📝
• Assisting teachers with tasks like photocopying and other administrative duties that support teaching. 📚
• Crucially, you'll help students learn as effectively as possible, whether in groups or working independently. This includes:
• Clarifying and explaining instructions. 🤔
• Ensuring students can use available equipment and materials. 🛠️
• Helping students focus and complete their work. ✅
• Meeting needs while promoting independence. 🌱
• Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behavior Plans. 📝
• Developing engaging resources to support students. 🎨

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to pupil development and well-being by supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
