What you'll be doing:
- Be a Champion for All: You'll provide crucial support to pupils, ensuring everyone, including those with special educational needs, feels safe, included, and has full access to learning opportunities. π
- Care and Comfort: This role involves assisting with the personal care and comfort of pupils, covering aspects like hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility, and administering medicines, all with dignity and respect. π
- Build Connections: Develop positive relationships with pupils, acting as a fantastic role model. Inspire them to connect with each other and dive into activities planned by our teachers. π€
- Support Learning Plans: Help bring Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes to life. You'll also offer feedback on pupil progress under teacher guidance. π
- Master the Tools: Get hands-on with specialist equipment and procedures, including moving and handling techniques, to meet each child's unique needs. π οΈ
- Create a Great Environment: Help craft a purposeful, organized, and supportive classroom atmosphere that aligns with lesson plans and celebrate pupils' achievements through displays of their work. π¨
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage good conduct, address conflicts and incidents swiftly, and empower pupils to take ownership of their behaviour, following school policies. π
- Office Ace: Provide essential administrative and clerical support, from photocopying and word processing to filing and handling small transactions. π
- Test Navigator: Assist with routine tests, invigilate exams, and undertake basic marking of pupil work. βοΈ
- Parent Partner: Build constructive relationships with parents and carers. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
- On the Go: Accompany pupils as needed and help them navigate the school environment. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ

Key responsibilities
- Take part in the planning, development and implementation of programmes of support for pupils with special educational needs.
- Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Assist with the personal care and comfort of pupils as required, including welfare, health, hygiene, and administering medicines.
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans.
- Provide clerical/administrative support (e.g. photocopying, word processing, filing, collecting money).
