What you'll be doing:
- Be the Voice of Welcome: Provide a super helpful, welcoming, and efficient phone and in-person experience for everyone who contacts us. 📞
- Handle the Dough: Inform patients about any charges for non-NHS services, take payments, and issue receipts. 💰
- Prescription Pro: Accept and process repeat prescription requests accurately and following our procedures. 📝
- Sample Supervisor: Safely accept and store patient samples for the lab, making sure they're perfectly labeled. 🔬
- Phlebotomy Support: Help get pathology test requests ready for our phlebotomy team.
- Phone Master: Get our phone system up and running daily and handle all incoming and outgoing calls smoothly. Expect to be the friendly voice that makes a fantastic first impression.
- Home Visit Hero: Take down all the important details for home visit requests and pass them on to the right doctor. 🏡
- Message Maestro: Divert calls, take accurate messages, and ensure they reach the right person swiftly. ✉️
- Appointment Ace: Manage our appointment system like a pro, booking immediate and future appointments for patients over the phone and in person.
- Admin All-Star: Alongside your reception duties, you might be asked to help with essential admin tasks like filing, photocopying, managing stationery, and handling mail. 📦
- Letter & Email Legend: Create standard patient letters and emails as requested by clinical staff, keeping patient records updated, and assisting with audits or contractual needs. 💻

Key responsibilities
- Provide reception and front-line service to patients and visitors, handling queries, payments, and various requests.
- Operate and manage the practice telephone system, including call handling, message taking, and diverting calls.
- Efficiently manage and process patient appointments using the practice's appointment system.
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, managing stationery, and handling correspondence.
- Maintain patient records and support practice compliance requirements, including processing pathology requests.
