What you'll be doing:
You'll be working closely with our SENCo and Inclusion Manager, providing crucial support to students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your mission? To help them smash their learning goals, boost their independence, and reach their full potential! πͺ This could be in the classroom, in small groups, or one-on-one, always with the guidance of our teaching staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personalised support programmes designed to get students fully engaged in their learning.
- Inspiring independence and making sure everyone feels included in Academy life.
- Providing targeted 1:1 or small group support to build confidence and understanding.
- Keeping an eye on attendance, progress, and outcomes for students with EHCPs, and keeping records shipshape. π
- Getting info ready to help with assessments, reviews, and inspections.
What we're looking for:
- Experience working with young people aged 16-23.
- Experience supporting young people with additional needs.
- A passion for creative arts and sports! π¨β½
- A strong commitment to promoting equality and anti-racism. β
- Understanding and appreciation of BCA's values and ethos.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting students with a range of SEND (like Autism, ADHD, Mental Health issues).
- A basic understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
- Experience using student databases.
