We're looking for an eager and motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Timber Workshop Assistant. What youโ€™ll be doing:

  • Helping us craft beautiful solid and engineered timber flooring โ€“ from getting the wood ready, to shaping, sanding, and giving it that perfect finish. โœจ
  • Learning the ins and outs of joinery and carpentry by assisting in the creation of custom timber products that are truly one-of-a-kind. ๐Ÿ”จ
  • Getting trained on how to safely use all sorts of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools under expert guidance. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ
  • Selecting, measuring, and marking timber, getting it prepped for all sorts of exciting projects. ๐Ÿ“
  • Teamwork makes the dream work! You'll be supporting our experienced workshop staff with cutting, machining, putting pieces together, and finishing.
  • Be our quality control guru! You'll help check timber and finished products to make sure everything meets our super high standards. โœ…
  • Expand your knowledge of different timber species, grades, and grains โ€“ become a wood expert! ๐ŸŒณ
  • Help keep our workshop running smoothly by assisting with moving, organizing, and storing timber and materials. ๐Ÿšš
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace โ€“ being a team player in keeping our workshop tidy is key! ๐Ÿงน
  • Always prioritizing safety! You'll learn and follow all our health and safety procedures to ensure everyone works safely in our timber manufacturing environment. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

This is a role where you'll be actively involved every single day. You'll learn a ton about woodworking, joinery, carpentry, and making top-notch timber flooring. No two days are the same, and you'll get to see the whole process, from picking out the perfect piece of wood to the final, polished product. ๐ŸŒŸ

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with the manufacture of solid and engineered timber flooring and bespoke timber products
  • Learning to safely operate woodworking machinery and hand and power tools
  • Selecting, measuring, marking and preparing timber for manufacturing jobs
  • Checking timber and finished products for quality and maintaining manufacturing standards
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe, including following health and safety procedures
