Ready to kickstart your career in a dynamic and innovative field? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Apprentice Simulation Technicians! This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a range of valuable skills, including communication, technical, IT, and administration. 💻🗣️🔧
You'll be based primarily in our state-of-the-art Centre Simulation Suite, providing crucial support to our Simulation Faculty. You'll collaborate with the Education & Development Team and other facilitators, all while being mentored by our experienced Learning and Simulation Technologist. 🤝
But that's not all! Your role will also extend beyond the sim suite, supporting 'in-situ' simulations that take place in various hospital wards and areas, led by The Simulation Fellow. 🏥
This is a Level 3 Apprenticeship with Hampshire Hospitals, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed for a thriving career in Simulation Based Education. You'll participate in a national remote learning program over 18-24 months, diving deep into specialty modules that will give you both theoretical and practical expertise. Plus, you'll get 20% of your working week dedicated to off-the-job study! 📚
What you'll be doing:
- Helping to deliver effective and efficient support for simulation-based education.
- Supporting faculty and the wider service in developing, running, and reviewing simulation sessions.
- Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting all the equipment, manikins, technology, and models. 🛠️
- Assisting the Education Directorate with all things simulation, including technology-enhanced learning, video conferencing, and training equipment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities include:
- Getting the simulation suite and teaching rooms prepped and ready for education and training. 🚀
- Creating moulage, props, and modifying manikins and equipment to make simulations super realistic. 🎭
- Showcasing excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. 📝
- Providing administrative support to ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and ready for audits. 📊
- Helping faculty and facilitators ensure sessions run like clockwork. ✅

Key responsibilities
- Provide effective and efficient support for simulation-based education and faculty.
- Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment, manikins, and technology.
- Enhance simulation fidelity through moulage, prop creation, and environmental modification.
- Provide administrative support, ensuring accurate record-keeping and availability for audit.
- Promote and utilise excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
