What You'll Do:

  • Apprenticeship Focus: You'll be enrolled in a Level 2 Facilities apprenticeship, learning and applying your new skills on the job. We'll provide dedicated training during work hours and support your course completion. ๐Ÿ“š
  • Property & Facilities Magic: Keep Star House and Sheffield Futures running smoothly! This includes:
  • Handling planned maintenance and making minor repairs. ๐Ÿ”ง
  • Helping with property upkeep, like painting and decorating. ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ
  • Responding to requests from tenants and partners. ๐Ÿค
  • Setting up rooms, moving furniture, and keeping spaces tidy. ๐Ÿงน
  • Maintaining our grounds and car park. ๐ŸŒฑ
  • Responding to ad hoc requests via our facilities system (FMConnect) for furniture builds, installations, and redecorations.
  • Conducting basic checks on service installations and completing meter readings. ๐Ÿ’ก
  • Managing our facility management software and spreadsheets to track requests. ๐Ÿ’ป
  • Ensuring portable appliances are safe and equipment is controlled. โœ…
  • Assisting with event and conference setups. ๐ŸŽ‰
  • Managing waste effectively. โ™ป๏ธ
  • Providing top-notch customer service to everyone who visits. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting ways to make our facilities even better.
  • Supporting environmental initiatives and suggesting ways to reduce our footprint. ๐ŸŒ
  • Health, Safety & Environment Champion:
  • Conducting safety checks and ensuring compliance with regulations. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš’
  • Assisting with essential safety tasks like electrical inspections and fire marshalling.
  • Completing health and safety-related administrative tasks.
  • Learning to conduct Risk Assessments and CoSHH assessments with guidance. ๐Ÿ“Š
  • Reporting incidents when necessary.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake planned and periodic maintenance of properties and building services, including minor repairs.
  • Participate in facilities renewal activities, including light DIY tasks, painting, decorating, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Manage room setup, equipment movement, and maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Conduct periodic health and safety checks, fulfil key safety roles, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Provide administrative support and respond proactively to tenancy and partner requests.

Entry requirements

Essential qualifications (Essential - To have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship. (A) - A commitment to completing all vocational assessments and cconsidering personal goals and development that would help achieve them. (A, I) Desirable Level 2 English and Maths (A))
