This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and become a vital part of our Clinical Measurements Department and cutting-edge community diagnostic centres in Great Yarmouth and on the JPUH site.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist Qualified Pros: You'll work alongside experienced Cardiac Physiologists, supporting them in delivering top-notch clinical measurements services to both inpatients and outpatients. ๐Ÿค
  • Dive into Cardiology: Get ready to gain practical, real-world experience in healthcare science, specifically within the exciting field of cardiology. ๐Ÿซ€
  • Develop Your Skills: After training and assessment, you'll confidently undertake tasks for non-complex patients under supervision, becoming an integral part of our team. ๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ
  • ECG Excellence: Master ECG skills and become a pro at our ambulatory monitoring service. This includes fitting and removing ECG and blood pressure monitors, and even diving into analysis! ๐Ÿ“ˆ
  • Behind the Scenes: You'll also handle important administrative duties, keeping our department running smoothly, from managing stock to ensuring our clinical areas are well-equipped. ๐Ÿ“ฆ
  • Patient Care Champion: Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and carers, providing reassurance and clear information throughout their care journey. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • Team Player: Escalate and communicate vital information to senior colleagues, ensuring everyone is in the loop. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
  • Equipment Guru: Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and safety checks on our clinical measurement equipment, ensuring everything is in perfect working order. โœ…
  • Safety First: Maintain a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment at all times. ๐Ÿงผ

What you'll need to apply:

  • Age: 16 or above.
  • Commitment: Not currently enrolled on another apprenticeship or DfE funded FE/HE programme.
  • Location: Spend at least 50% of your working hours in England. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง
  • Right to Work: Must have the right to work in England.
  • Residency: A citizen of an EEA country (or with rights of abode in the UK) and ordinarily resident in the EEA, OR a non-EEA citizen with UK government permission to live here (not for education) and ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years.
  • Qualifications: 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above, including English or Maths. Equivalent qualifications are also accepted. (Refer to the full JD/PS for specific details).

Key responsibilities

  • Performing electrocardiography (ECG) procedures.
  • Fitting and analysing ambulatory cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Supporting the delivery of Exercise Stress Testing.
  • Assisting in the diagnosis and assessment of patients.
  • Undertaking clerical and administrative tasks.

Essential qualifications (Essential GCSE Grade 4 or above in Mathematics (or equivalent) GCSE Grade 4 or above in English (or equivalent) 2 further GCSEs Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) Desirable Health and Social Care BTEC National, 'A' Level or equivalent)
